After a period of rapid development in the mold industry in China, parts have gradually developed in the direction of standardization, specialization and commercialization, and some have already reached a high level and have made considerable progress. 

Since the establishment of the National Mold Standardization Technical Committee in 1983, experts have been organized to formulate, revise and review mold standards. A total of more than 90 standards have been issued, including 22 die standards and more than 20 plastic mold standards. The promulgation and implementation of these standards has promoted the technological progress and development of the mold industry and produced great social and economic benefits. The research, development and production of mold standard parts are being carried out in an all-round and in-depth manner, both in terms of product types, varieties, specifications, and technical performance and quality levels of products.

At present, the degree of standardization and application level of molds in China has reached 50%, compared with developed countries (70-80%), there is still a large gap. In recent years, China's production and sales manufacturers have increased year by year, but most of them are small-scale, outdated equipment, backward technology, high cost and low efficiency. Only ordinary small and medium-sized standard die mold bases and plastic mold bases, guide posts, guide sleeves, push rods, die springs, pneumatic components and other products have a high degree of commercialization, which can basically meet the needs of the domestic market, and some are exported.

And those products with high technical content, advanced structure, excellent performance, high quality, and convenient replacement, such as ball lock quick-change punches and fixed plates, solid lubricated guide plates and guide sleeves, oblique wedge mechanisms and their components There are few domestic manufacturers of high-grade plastic mold standard parts and nitrogen main springs, and due to lack of funds, it is difficult to implement technical transformation projects, low production efficiency, long delivery cycles, and increasingly conflicting supply and demand.

China still needs to import a considerable amount of standard mold parts from abroad every year, and its cost accounts for about 8% of the annual mold import value. There are still many problems with domestic mold standard parts in terms of technical standards, technological development, and product quality.

For example, the product standards are chaotic, with few functional components, low technical content, and poor applicability; small technical reforms, outdated equipment, backward technology, low professionalism, and unstable product quality; lack of professional talents, management failure to keep up, and low production efficiency 3. Long delivery cycle; uneven distribution of production and sales outlets, low specifications of operating varieties, and insufficient supply; some units, in order to compete for the market, do not focus on quality, fill the market with inferior products and counterfeit goods. There is also a phenomenon of ignoring costs, blindly lowering prices, and disrupting the market, which need to be studied carefully and remain to be resolved.
